Eurasian Wryneck (Jynx torquilla) is a unique and elusive bird species found in Pakistan. Eurasian Wryneck is primarily distributed in forested areas across the northern regions, including the Himalayan foothills, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. They prefer mixed woodlands, orchards, and scrubland habitats with a sufficient supply of insects, their primary food source.

Eurasian Wrynecks are known for their cryptic behavior and camouflaged plumage, making them challenging to spot in their natural habitat. They feed primarily on ants, beetles, and other insects, which they capture by probing crevices and cracks in trees and the ground with their long, sticky tongues.
