In Pakistan, Alpine Swifts are primarily found in the northern regions, especially in mountainous areas such as the Himalayas and the Karakoram Range. During the summer breeding season, they may venture further south into the foothills and occasionally into urban areas.
Alpine Swifts are migratory birds, spending their breeding season in Pakistan before migrating southwards to warmer regions for the winter. They are highly gregarious, often forming large flocks during migration and while foraging for aerial insects over open landscapes. Their breeding colonies are typically located in cliff crevices or under overhangs, where they construct cup-shaped nests from feathers, grass, and other materials.
