Short Description:

The Bridled Tern (Onychoprion anaethetus) is a seabird species found along the coastal regions of Pakistan. These birds typically inhabit tropical and subtropical oceans, often frequenting offshore islands and coral reefs. In Pakistan, they are commonly spotted along the southern coastlines, particularly in areas such as Karachi, Gwadar, and the surrounding regions.

Bridled Terns are known to breed on remote islands in the Indian and Pacific Oceans, including some islands off the coast of Pakistan. During the non-breeding season, they disperse widely across tropical and subtropical waters, including along the coasts of Pakistan.
These terns are highly aerial and agile, often observed flying gracefully over the ocean surface. They are proficient divers and feed primarily on small fish and squid caught by plunge-diving from the air. Bridled Terns are also social birds, often seen in small flocks or larger colonies during the breeding season.
