Dusky Eagle-Owl is primarily found in forested areas, including tropical and subtropical forests, as well as wooded foothills and ravines. It inhabits regions across the country, including parts of Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan provinces. This species prefers dense forest habitats with ample roosting and nesting sites, away from human disturbance.
Dusky Eagle-Owl is a nocturnal hunter, meaning it is most active during the night. It preys on a variety of small to medium-sized mammals, birds, reptiles, and insects, which it captures using its powerful talons. Its hunting strategy often involves perching in a concealed location and silently waiting for prey to approach, before swooping down swiftly to capture it.
