Egyptian Vulture is primarily found in the northern and western regions, including the mountainous areas of Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan. It also occurs in parts of Sindh and Punjab, particularly during migration. It prefers open habitats such as deserts, grasslands, and rocky slopes, as well as agricultural areas and garbage dumps where it can scavenge for food.
Egyptian Vulture is a scavenger and opportunistic feeder, often feeding on carrion, scraps, and refuse. It is known for its remarkable tool-using behavior, where it uses rocks to crack open eggs or shells to access food inside. Additionally, it feeds on insects, small mammals, reptiles, and occasionally fruits and vegetation.
