Short Description:
Northern Goshawk is a large and powerful bird of prey with a robust build and short, broad wings. It has a slate-gray to bluish-gray back and wings, while its underparts are typically lighter with barring. Adults have a distinctive white eyebrow stripe or "superior," which contrasts with a dark cap on their head. Their eyes are usually a piercing red or orange color, and their hooked beak is adapted for tearing flesh. Females are larger than males, exhibiting sexual dimorphism in size.

Northern Goshawk is primarily found in the northern and northwestern regions, particularly in forested areas and mountainous terrain. They inhabit coniferous and mixed forests, as well as scrubland and woodland edges. Their distribution extends from the Himalayan foothills in the north to the Balochistan Plateau in the west.
Northern Goshawks are skilled hunters, specializing in capturing medium-sized birds and mammals. They employ a stealthy hunting technique, often using dense cover to surprise their prey with short, powerful bursts of flight. Their agility and speed make them formidable predators, capable of maneuvering through dense vegetation with ease.
