Persian Shearwater can be found along the coastline of the Arabian Sea, particularly in areas with deep offshore waters. It is primarily observed during its breeding season and migration periods, which vary depending on regional factors and oceanographic conditions. During the non-breeding season, some individuals may disperse widely across the Indian Ocean.
Persian Shearwaters are highly pelagic birds, spending much of their lives at sea. They are adept flyers, using their long wings to soar effortlessly over the ocean’s surface. Their diet primarily consists of fish and squid, which they catch by diving from the air into the water. They are also known to scavenge for food and may follow fishing vessels in search of discarded scraps.
