Short Description:

A medium-sized leaf-warbler with comparatively short tail and prominent supercilium. From Greenish by long, slender, mainly dark bill, shorter tail, lack of wing-bar. Supercilium tends to look finer, and is offset by rather broad and well-defined dark olive lores and eye-stripe. Has dark greenish cast to upperparts.

Common summer visitor in Astore, Ghizer, Gilgit, Nagar and Diamer districts. Breeds in coniferous forest of pine, fir or oak and subalpine shrubberies with birch and willow, at 2400-3600m. Winters mainly in broadleaved forest, above 900m.

Unobtrusively forages low down in thickets, edges of forest undergrowth and in middle levels of conifer. Forages mostly by gleaning from leaves and branches in rather slow or ponderous manner; also makes short sallies after flying insects. Food mostly small insects and larvae, such as springtails, aphids, small moths and small spiders.
