Short Description:
The Collared Pratincole (Glareola pratincola) is a migratory bird found in Pakistan during its wintering season. With distinctive brown and white plumage, it is often observed in open grasslands, marshes, and wetlands across the country.
Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast
During migration, Collared Pratincoles can be spotted in various parts of Pakistan, particularly in the Indus River basin, coastal areas, and inland wetlands such as lakes and reservoirs. They are known to frequent regions like Sindh, Punjab, and Balochistan.
Collared Pratincoles are highly social birds, often seen in flocks during their migratory stopovers. They are skilled aerial foragers, feeding primarily on insects such as dragonflies, beetles, and grasshoppers, which they catch in flight. Their agile flight patterns and distinctive call, a sharp “kik-kik-kik”, make them easily identifiable.
