The Chestnut-bellied Rock-Thrush is primarily found in the northern regions, including the mountainous areas of Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir. It may also occur in other rocky habitats across the country, but its distribution is generally limited to higher elevations.
These birds are known for their agile and elusive behavior, often perching on rocky outcrops and darting between rocks in search of prey. They are primarily insectivorous, feeding on a variety of insects and small invertebrates found among rocky terrain. During breeding season, males may engage in territorial displays to attract mates, singing from prominent perches to establish their dominance and defend their territory.
