Desert Lark (Ammomanes deserti) is a small, ground-dwelling bird native to the arid regions of Pakistan. Desert Lark is primarily found in the desert and semi-desert regions of the country, including the Thar Desert in the province of Sindh, and the Cholistan and Thal deserts in the province of Punjab. It prefers sandy or rocky terrain with sparse vegetation, where it can forage for insects and seeds.

Desert Larks are predominantly terrestrial birds, often seen foraging on the ground for insects, seeds, and small invertebrates. They have a characteristic undulating flight pattern when disturbed. During the breeding season, males perform aerial displays to attract females. Their calls are typically a series of melodious whistles or trills, often delivered from a prominent perch such as a rock or low bush. Despite their well-camouflaged appearance, they are known for their alertness and may take flight swiftly when approached too closely.
