Short Description:

Booted Warbler (Iduna caligata) is a small passerine bird species that frequents Pakistan during its migration. It has a rather nondescript appearance, with olive-brown upperparts and a pale underbelly. The distinguishing features include a pale supercilium and a faint eye-ring. Its name is derived from the slightly darker "boots" or bands on its legs, which are visible when observed closely.

Booted Warbler is a migratory bird, found in Pakistan mainly during its passage between breeding and wintering grounds. In Pakistan, it is primarily observed in the northern and northwestern regions, including Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Azad Kashmir. During migration, it may also be spotted in various habitats such as shrublands, gardens, and agricultural areas.
Booted Warblers exhibit typical warbler behavior, foraging actively in dense vegetation for insects and small invertebrates. They often stay low in bushes and shrubs, using their slender bills to pick insects off leaves and branches. During the breeding season, they are known for their melodious and repetitive songs, which they use to establish territories and attract mates. In Pakistan, they are primarily observed during their migration period, usually in spring and autumn, as they journey between their breeding grounds in Central Asia and their wintering grounds in South Asia.
