House Crows have a widespread distribution throughout Pakistan, particularly in densely populated urban areas such as Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, and Rawalpindi. They are commonly found in both residential and commercial areas, where they take advantage of human activities and food sources. Due to their adaptable nature, House Crows have successfully established themselves in various habitats, including coastal regions, agricultural lands, and urban centers across the country.
House Crows exhibit a range of behaviors that are well-suited to urban environments in Pakistan. They are highly social birds, often seen in large flocks roosting on buildings or foraging together for food. Their diet consists of a wide variety of items, including insects, small mammals, fruits, grains, and discarded human food. House Crows are opportunistic scavengers, frequently seen rummaging through garbage bins and dumpsters in search of food. They are also known for their vocalizations, with loud and raucous calls that are characteristic of urban landscapes in Pakistan. Despite being considered pests by some due to their scavenging habits, House Crows play an important ecological role in urban ecosystems by helping to control insect populations and recycling organic waste.
