Oriental Dollarbird is predominantly found in the southern and southeastern regions, including Sindh and Balochistan provinces. It inhabits a variety of habitats, including open woodlands, scrublands, cultivated areas, and urban parks. During migration, it may also be spotted in other parts of the country, particularly along coastal areas.
Oriental Dollarbird is primarily insectivorous, feeding on a variety of flying insects such as beetles, dragonflies, and butterflies. It is often observed perched on exposed branches or power lines, scanning its surroundings for prey. Its aerial hunting technique involves agile flights and aerial pursuits to capture insects on the wing.
