The Pacific Golden-Plover (Pluvialis fulva) is a migratory bird species that occasionally visits Pakistan during its winter migration. While sightings of this species in Pakistan are relatively infrequent compared to other migratory birds, it can be found in coastal areas such as estuaries, mudflats, and sandy shores along the country’s southern coastline bordering the Arabian Sea.
Specifically, the Pacific Golden-Plover may be observed in suitable habitats along the coastlines of provinces such as Sindh and Balochistan. However, its distribution within Pakistan may vary, and sightings are typically sporadic
Feeds in typical plover style; also gleans and probes in mud, sand and pastures. Feeds alone or in flocks. Some wintering birds occupy territories for entire season, returning each year. Mainly feeds on insects, molluscs, worms, crustaceans and spiders; berries particularly important on tundra; occasionally seeds and leaves, and exceptionally small vertebrates.
