Rufous-naped Tit is primarily distributed in the northern regions, including the Himalayan and Karakoram mountain ranges. Its range extends across forested areas at elevations ranging from 1,500 to 3,500 meters above sea level. It is commonly found in coniferous and mixed forests, particularly favoring areas with dense vegetation and ample food sources.
Rufous-naped Tits are active and agile birds, often seen darting among branches and foliage in search of food. They primarily feed on insects, seeds, and berries, which they glean from various parts of trees and shrubs. These birds are known for their social behavior, often forming small flocks, especially during the non-breeding season. They communicate using a variety of vocalizations, including chirps, trills, and calls, which are used for territorial defense and maintaining social bonds within the group. During the breeding season, Rufous-naped Tits construct cup-shaped nests in tree hollows or among dense vegetation, where they lay their eggs and raise their young.
