The Scaly Thrush (Zoothera dauma) is a medium-sized bird with brownish plumage featuring distinctive scalloped patterns on its feathers, giving it its name. Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast
In Pakistan, the Scaly Thrush is primarily found in forested areas, including coniferous and mixed forests, as well as in scrublands and gardens. Its distribution spans across the northern regions of Pakistan, including the foothills of the Himalayas and the mountainous areas of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Scaly Thrushes are typically shy and secretive birds, often foraging on the forest floor for insects, worms, and berries. They are known to be territorial during the breeding season, with males defending their territories through singing and displays. Outside of the breeding season, they may form loose flocks for foraging. These birds are mainly active during the early morning and late evening hours, seeking cover in dense vegetation during the day.
