The Spotted Flycatcher is mainly found in the northern regions during the summer breeding season, including areas such as Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir. During migration, it can be spotted in other parts of the country, especially in wooded areas and gardens.
Spotted Flycatchers are known for their perching-and-waiting hunting strategy. They perch on exposed branches or wires, dart out to catch flying insects, and return to the same perch. They are solitary birds outside of the breeding season but may gather in loose flocks during migration. They build cup-shaped nests in trees or on buildings, where they lay eggs and raise their young.
